MAC Lipstick O on deep skintone

I have already written about MAC's Odyssey. Today I am writing my experience with another Frost finish lipstick from MAC called "O". Yes it's just "O". I never tried this on me but ordered online after looking at some swatches.

Price & Quantity: $16 for 3g/ 0.1 US oz

Color & Texture: MAC describes this as Purplish-red with golden pearl and frost finish. I thought it would actually a kind of red. But when I opened the pack I was disappointed by it's dark bronze color. But I fell in love when I swatched at the back of my hand. On my skin to me it didn't look or have a tiniest bit of red. It was more of bronze plum shade. When i wipe the lipstick off it came off as plum color. Funny isn't it looks different in tube than when applied and removed. When it transfers on cups it comes off as plum.

I am a NC 45 in MAC and it compliments my skin tone very well although I am not a huge fan of brown lipsticks. I remember seeing this in store and I would never even in dreams try the swatch to see the color on me. I am liking this lipstick.

The lipstick has shimmery particles to it, decent coverage in single swipe unlike satin or sheen finish lipsticks. The copper bronze shimmer color goes well on deep skintone. If you have dry lips you would want to have a layer of lip balm underneath. I did a mistake here, I did my eyes and applied the lipcolor last. My eye makeup does not go well with this lipcolor. To fix it I then applied some blush over my cheeks to balance it.

The color looks so pretty in pictures and in light. I totally loved wearing it to work with my pale pink sweater. It lasted for 3 - 4 hours and then I reapplied post my meal. This is a different color than regular brown, red, purple and pinks. I am going to use this from time to time for a change.

MAC Technakohl Eyeliner - Superfly Review

Couple of day's before Thanksgiving received a newsletter from MAC about their Technakohl Liners.
I already have several colored liner's was in search of smudge proof liner's so thought of buying black liner. MAC Black liner in this collection is called Superfly. All the shades in the new launch are brilliant and vivid.

Quantity & Price: $16 for 0.35 g/0.012 US oz

About the liner - Superfly : I read reviews on their old collection, and people had written it as water proof. I bought Superfly online so I could try it on only after I got the shipment. People had mentioned about Graphblack but unfortunately that was not available and hence I bought Superfly. It comes in a twist/retractable tube, which I liked.

MAC describes this as a "Mechanical pencil-style liner. In formula, soft and creamy, with an intense, rich, colour deposit. Blends on application: dries quickly to a long wear non-smudge finish. Versatile. An easy way to line the top and lower lash line of the eye. When applied at a 90 degree angle, provides as thin precise line. For a thinker application, apply at a flat angle."

My Experience: On the pack or on the liner itself I did not see water proof or smudge proof anywhere. Superfly is a soft black color, not intense black. Application is easy, I had to run over twice to get the desired finish. I had eye primer underneath and it stayed well for straight 10 hours. I am yet to test in hot climate. It's water proof too. you would need a cleanser or eye makeup remover to take it off.

I am thinking of buying their Graph black too, it's now available on MAC's website. I am so obsessed with their Lipsticks and now Eye liners :)

MAC Sized to Go Tinted LipGlass - Rebel on Indian skintone

Today I am going to write my first experience with MAC Lipglass Rebel. I already have the most applauded Rebel Lipstick and absolutely love it. I am not a huge fan of Lip Gloss. I got an email from MAC about their Sized to Go Tinted Lipglasses which are travel friendly. I thought of giving a try as it's only 10 dollars. I ordered Rebel and Love Child online without trying.

Price & Quantity: $10 for 2.4 g / 0.8 US oz

About Rebel Lipglass: It's the same color as their Rebel Lipstick. It comes in a small plastic tube. Nothing classy about the case though. The gloss is sticky in the tube and not watery. Although in tube it looks very dark but it's a beautiful deep berry/grape shade. It's wearable by all skin tones although the results look different from fair to deep skin tone. The gloss is very sheer when applied by itself, build able to a opaque coverage with few layers. It's shiny without glitters which I like. The shine wears off soon. On my lips I didn't feel the gloss sticky like many other glosses I have used.

You would want to have a layer of lipstick or lip liner color underneath to have a lasting color. I didn't had MAC Currant Lip liner which is the perfect match for this so substituted with Lakme Black Currant(12). I am yet to try this with MAC Rebel Lipstick. It lasted for 3 - 4 hours leaving behind the bottom color.

If you are not a gloss person but looking to add some shine to your lipstick, then go for this. I wouldn't wear this gloss by itself.

MAC Lush life Vs All Out Gorgeous

Hello Everyone,

You might have some confusion with certain colors from MAC. Although at first glance the colors look similar in tube. MAC has several such colors in all it's collection. You might fond this helpful. I have compared two shades here. I will continue writing more such posts.

Both these lipsticks from MAC are similar in texture and everything. They belong to Mineralize Rich Lipstick collection. There is very slight variation between these two lipsticks. The difference is visible in the swatch. However on my lips you can make it out on close observation. For your information I am matched to MAC NC45.

Burberry Weekend EDP for Indian weather

Hi Gals !

Burberry Weekend fragrance is my second favorite perfume after Burberry London. I bought a 35ml bottle from a mall in India after trying the tester.

I am sorry I do not remember the price I bought it for. I wanted to start writing about the perfumes I use for several months and finally I am when the perfumes are getting over lol...It means I really like these fragrances.

The perfume comes in a classy check patterned glass bottle. You can see that in the pictures.

As I mentioned before I am not very familiar with the notes in a perfume, but can tell mild, pleasant or strong smell. Here is what Burberry has to say about it's notes:

A sheer fragrance with top notes of tangerine, tree sap and Reseda plant. Delicate floral heart notes of wild rose, peach blossom, iris and hyacinth, invigorated by a subtle splash of nectarine. The low notes of cedar wood and sandalwood add depth for a relaxed and fresh scent.

About the fragrance:
It's fresh, feminine, classy and suitable for all age group. As it's EDP it lasts longer than 6 hours on me and can smell the scent on clothes too I wear it to work, even in India on hot summer days. It's a anytime wear.

Burberry Body EDT Review

I have been a huge fan of Burberry ever since I first used Burberry London perfume.
After that I tried Burberry Touch followed by Weekend and then was looking for Body collection.
Oh my it was out of my budget in India, so settled for the 35 ml EDT.

I am sorry as I am not sure about the price at this point, and each websites have their own price.

The bottle looks beautiful, and it comes in a nice classy package as per Burberry's Standard.
It's a multi-faceted glass bottle with silver colored embossed check lid. This looks nice on the dressing table even if it's empty :) It's going to be 10 months since I bought this and no longer have the outer pack for pictured. As you can see I have almost finished this and in the hunt for the next one.

I am not very familiar with the notes in a perfume, but can tell mild, pleasant or strong smell. Here is what Burberry has to say about it's notes:

A light and fresh interpretation of the iconic Burberry Body Eau de Parfum fragrance
Fresh green apple complements green absinthe and illuminating peach
Floral heart notes are infused with a new aroma of seductive tea
Warm base notes of woody cashmeran, creamy vanilla and amber

The smell is not over powering, it's sweet and doesn't cause a headache to anyone.
The fragrance lingers on my moisturized pulse points for good 8 hours during winter and 4 - 5 hours on summer. Some times I just spritz on my clothes.

If you want to upgrade yourself to a nice perfume brand with pleasant smell, you can go for this. Pick yourself a 35 ml EDT it lasts for months.

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Quite the thing on Indian Skintone

While looking at the swatches from MAC Sheen Supreme Collection I liked few of their colors.
Being a big fan of plum colors, I added Quite the thing to my wishlist and bought couple of months later without even trying.

Price & Quantity: $18 for 3.6 g / 0.12 US oz in US

Color & Texture: This lipstick shade name does not give a slightest clue on the color :) It's a cool dark pinkish plum color. It looks as if it's a frost finish lipstick from tube but it's not. It's smooth on application, with the vanilla fragrance. It's sheer and looks like glossy lip balm on single swipe. You can build it up to get a opaque look with couple of layers.It has very fine shimmery particles that does not show off. It's not sticky and feels light on lips.

It's lasting power is less compared to their Satin/Matte finish lipsticks. The glossiness wears off soon in couple of hours. With opaque layers, the color lasts on me for 3 - 4 hours and after that the stain remains on my lips. I would have had several coffees and a meal by then. I re-apply post lunch so that I have it back for the rest of the day.

This is a pretty dark pink color, suitable for all Indian skin tones. If you like dark pink or plum and shine this is for you. Some prefer to wear such colors during winter, to me it does not matter :) 

Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict - Berry Rose on deep skintone

Today I am reviewing another lipstick from the Lakme Gloss Addict collection called Berry Rose.
I have used it several times now but haven't had a chance to write as I started this blog last month.

About Lakme Gloss Addict Berry Rose:
As you all know all lipsticks from this range has a glossy finish with smooth buttery texture as the name emphasize. It's absolutely true with one exception the coverage varies from color to color. The lipstick case is a classy glass tube which is pretty and like about these lipsticks. The tube  has some mechanism that locks the lipstick down when you twist down with a click.

Price & Quantity : 4ml Rs.700 in Purplle and Rs.800 in Flipkart. I bought in Purplle few months ago for Rs560 with some discount in Purplle.

Color & Texture:
Berry Rose is a beautiful pale pink shade at least for me. It's goes very smooth on application with the buttery texture. Most often it's a mess due to it's texture it slips off my lip line. I some time apply lightly from the tube and use my finger and lips to blend it all over my lips. You can also lip brush to fill your lips if your are comfortable. A thin layer of this lipstick looks like having a lip balm with good glossy look. The glossiness wears out in less than 30 minutes. The good thing is it does not dry out my lips nor feel sticky. Coverage is not great if you have pigmented lips.

Wear time is too short less than 3 hours. I wouldn't mind reapplying when this keeps your lips hydrated. It transfers on cups easily due to its texture and would lose color soon.

This suits almost all Indian skintone from fair to deep skintone. This can be worn any time during the day or night.
