Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist Nail polish - Pink Burst on dark skin

Hello Girls,

I have written an overview of Lakme's Gel Stylish nail polish collection here. I am posting detailed pictures of this color nail polish in this post.

Price: - 400 INR for 15ml. I bought this for 340 from Purplle a good 15% discount . 

My take on Pink Burst Shade:  This is a nice rosy pink bright summer shade.The color is thick enough to give good coverage in one coat. It;s wearable pink suits almost all skin tone. I am NC45 of MAC and I loved wearing this for a week.

I usually layer my nails with a base coat and a top coat for extra shine. This lasts on me for over a week and does not chip. I do all house hold work. 

It looks prettier than Lakme 9 to 5 or color crush collection, the shine adds value to it, imitating Gel Nails.

I am wearing a single coat of Lakme nail paint, with Sally Hansen Top Coat. It goes well with all summer/spring related bright colored clothes. In the picture I am wearing an Orange Kurti with pink&golden Stripes from W.

My take on Scarlet Red Shade:  This is a beautiful red shade. The color is thick enough to give good coverage in one coat. It;s wearable by all suitable to work place as well. It does not look weird on your nails. The finish is shiny and looks very chic like celebrity's nail.

I usually layer my nails with a base coat and a top coat for extra shine. This lasts on me for over a week and does not chip. I do all house hold work. 

It looks prettier than Lakme 9 to 5 or color crush collection, of course this comes with a big price tag cry cry :(

Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist Nail Polish on medium dark skin

Nail polish is one makeup for nails that any Indian girl wouldn't resist. We all tend to grab one or two on our visit to malls or stores. I am a shopaholic and I use to buy a lot many without even trying after making a decision looking at the swatches online. All online shopping websites made things easier for me. I have bought 80% of my nail polishes from Purplle / Jabong / Flipkart. 

Many of us who like the colors would be hesitant to buy online thinking if it would suit our skintone. Most of the online swatches come on medium - fair skin tone. I am NC45 of MAC, and would say medium to deep skintone. I hope these pictures would be helpful for you.

Price of these nail polish collection: 400 for 15 ml. I got 15% discount on Purplle and Flipkart.

About the Nail Polish: I do not want to bore you with details. Gel nails have been popular in many countries and expensive to do such manicures. Lakme has launched this collection which gives a look of Gel Nails. Let's see how it fared. 

I have bought 5 shades and tried 4 so far. The bottle looks classy and big but contain only 15 ml of nail paint.They look pretty and professional. The finish is shiny, gives nice coverage in single coat. It definitely looks much better than Lakme's True wear or color crush or 9 to 5 collection. I know this comes with a big price :( 

Lasting power: The shine wears off in 3 - 4 days, if you do not wear a glossy top coat. As i wear top coat I do not experience chipping for a week. I do all house hold work. My nail grows so fast and I usually change nail polish after a week. Although they somewhat look like Gel nails, it doesn't last like actual Gel nails.

I would probably buy this again if the price comes down to 200 lol !!!!

MAC Newyork Apple Lipstick on deep Indian Skintone

Today I am writing my opinion on another lipstick from MAC called Newyork Apple. This belongs to their Frost family, yet another beautiful color.

Price: $16 (3g) as I bought in USA. Right not the price in India may be over 1000 as I bought one other lipstick from Express Avenue Mall Chennai.

About the lipstick: MAC describes this shade as Muted red with pink shimmer. Indeed it is. It's neither too bright nor flashy. This is a frost finish lipstick hence shimmery just little. This color is suitable for all Indian skin tones, and is just perfect for anyone who likes to wear red but not look bright like Deepika Padukone or Kareena Kapoor. It can be worn any time during the day or night. It has the mild Vanilla fragrance of MAC which disappears to nothing after the application. It gives decent pigmentation on single swipe you can just blend for a soft look else build it up to provide good coverage.

I used the MAC Cherry lip pencil to line my lips and then filled my lips with Newyork apple, single swipe on both lips blended nicely. Didn't use gloss. You can top it with a gloss if you are going for a party or function.

It stayed on me for 2 - 3 hours in hot humid weather and disappeared after the meal except for the lip outline.

Overall satisfied, would rate 4/5

MAC Plumful lipstick on medium Indian skintone

Today I am writing about my experience with another lipstick from MAC called Plumful. Yee yee !

I have collected several of MAC lipsticks and still haven't worn few of them. I tried Plumful couple of months after my purchase.

Price - 16 USD 3gm. Not sure about the price in India. Could be over 1000 right now.

About the lipstick:
MAC describes this as Blooming Rose Plum. Well this belong to Lustre finish family. As the name says the lipstick is a beautiful pinkish plum. It's a beautiful color suiting all Indian skin tone from fair, medium to deep. Although the color on lips look different on various skin tone. I am an NC45 of MAC just to give you an idea.

The lipstick texture is smooth, slightly sheer with mild vanilla fragrance which is present on most of the MAC lipsticks. Application is smooth and build-able to very opaque look. I have simply covered my lips with lip balm as usual and lined my lips. It's neither dry nor super shiny. All time wearable, suitable for workplace as well.

Lipstick lasted on me for good 3 hours. It didn't bleed even in hot humid climate of Kerala. After that I still had the color stain of lipstick for couple more hours after which I retouched before going out for dinner.

I loved wearing this. Girls go grab yours now.

L’Oréal Paris COLOR RICHE Collection Star PURE GARNET on medium skintone

New year 2015 is slowly dying down and so as my illness. Bad fever and cough due to weather change here in Kerala. I was flipping through Femina and the huge ad featuring the bollywood divas for L'oreal Paris Lipstick caught my eyes. I fell in love with the color Sonam Kapoor was wearing. I finally purchased it from Purplle and it arrived today. I have been sick at home, and it's been a while since I last wore makeup.

I quickly cleansed and did some touch- up to try this new color on. Viola - I am loving it. Here are my comments and the pictures on how this looks on me, a dusky complexion skin tone.

Price: 995 INR for 4.2 gms.

About the lipstick: All praises :) the lipstick case is classy and gorgeous. I could not smell anything as far as fragrance is concerned, may be because I had cold. Application is easy, the texture is matte without any shine, or dryness. It would appear awkward if you have dry chapped lips. You may want to moisturize your lips first with some lip balm underneath. I used a brush to apply, I have put two coat to bring the nice rich wine/plum shade. This shade is beautiful on all skin tones especially people with medium to dark skin tone cannot miss this. It's a beautiful bold color.

It stays on for a good 5 - 6 hrs without meals. After that it leaves the stain behind the traces of lip color. It didn't dry my lips, light and comfortable for day time wear.

I first felt it does look like couple of MAC lipsticks I have. MAC Rebel and MAC Darkside. I have compared the three shades and some pictures below.

Urban Decay Ten 24/7 Glide on eye pencil set swatches

This gift set from Urban Decay turned out to be an amazing value product. The gift pack contains 10 vivid colors of eye liners, and a sharpener. All the eye pencils are smooth on application. Some of the colors are suitable for casual / party only. How ever I loved all the 10 colors.

Lakme Absolute Matte Lip Color swatches and review

Hello lovely ladies out there !

Thank you for reading this post. Lakme Absolute Matte collection has quite a few pretty shades that suits all Indian Skin tones. I have four of them so far, and I am posting the pictures of the swatches here. I will add pictures of how these looks on me when I wear it. [Pure Glam 201, Elegant Bloom 202, Nougat 62, Grape Blossom 209]

I paid 500 bucks in Bangalore Central for these lipsticks. one. 

The lipstick is matte finish however it's smooth on application. It doesn't dry your lips. It's hydrating how ever I would suggest to have a balm underneath as it;s a general rule I follow all the time. If you have dry chapped lips, the lipstick would settle in the lines.

All these shade goes well on almost all Indian Skin tone, suitable to wear to work as well. They stay at least 4 - 5 hours on me leaving the color behind without having meals. 

Pure Glam - It has light shimmer in it, good for parties, functions although I wear to work as well. It's a beautiful shade suits all skintone. This is my favorite.

Elegant Bloom - This is the next shade after Pure glam, it's plain without any shimmer. Wearable for all skin tone, smooth texture. 

Nougat - This is a pretty neutral shade I would say on medium to deep skin tone. It's not actually mauve color when it comes on the lips. Light , wearable for all, does not bleed.

Grape Blossom - This one is a deep purple shade when swiped few times, or deep pink/mauve with single swipe. I wear this as needed depending on the dress color. Either light or deep to match my purple dresses. This is kind of dry on my lips, so I have lip-balm underneath as usual. Again this one is suitable for all skin tones too.

For your info, I am a NC45 of MAC, just to give an idea :)

Mac Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Moody Bloom on Indian Skintone

I have been wanting to write about this lipstick for a month now. Finally here it is. This lipstick is from MAC's Moody Bloom Collection with the same name. It wasn't available in all the stores hence I ordered from MAC Store online.

Price: 18 USD (3.6 g)

About the lipstick: MAC Sheen Supreme Moody Bloom lipstick comes in a sleek case. The lipstick cap when closing has a click sound ensuring it's locked away safe.

The lipstick shade is unique and very pretty like a shimmery bronze. It;s very sheen and goes smooth on application. It;s very light and wearable. You might want to build the color with few swipes. At first it looks similar to MAC Frost lipstick "O" but it's different in it's texture and "O" is very intense and Moody Bloom is sheer light. It has MAC's signature fragrance of Vanilla while applying.

It looks nice and neutral on medium to deep skin tone. It's pretty. I wore on hot humid Indian weather too (Kerala). It didn't bleed on me but the staying power is less, 2 hours is all I have got and after the meal it was gone, no trace of it may be because I wiped my mouth after food. I enjoyed wearing it though on my lunch date with my fiance.

Below is the lipstick swatch and the picture me wearing it. I would rate 4/5 due to it's staying power.

MAC Sized to Go Tinted LipGlass - Love child on Indian skintone

Hi Beauties !

Today I am going to write my first experience with MAC Lipglass Love child. This is been raved quite a bit and promoted well by MAC for sometime. I  looked at the swatches online and ordered from MAC website in USA. I am not a huge fan of Lip Gloss. I got an email from MAC about their Sized to Go Tinted Lip glasses which are travel friendly. I thought of giving a try as it's only $10.

Price & Quantity: $10 for 2.4 g / 0.8 US oz

About Love Child Lipglass: It comes in a small plastic tube. Nothing classy about the case though. The gloss is sticky in the tube and not watery. It's a beautiful light pink shade with fine shimmer in it that;s visible through the tube itself. It's wearable by all skin tones although the results look different from fair to deep skin tone. The gloss is very sheer when applied by itself, build-able to a opaque coverage with few layers. The shine wears off soon. On my lips I didn't feel the gloss sticky like many other glosses I have used.

I wore it few times now but all the time I had some lipsticks underneath, as this gloss is very sheen. It kind of melts in hot humid climate (southern part of India).

You would want to have a layer of lipstick or lip liner color underneath to have a lasting color. It lasted for 2- 3 hours  in hot weather leaving behind the bottom color.

If you are not a gloss person but looking to add some shine to your lipstick, then go for this. I wouldn't wear this gloss by itself. I need to try this with MAC Darkside lipstick that's one combination MAC promoted last winter.
