Revlon Orbit Nail Art Moon Candy Nail Enamel-280 - Dark Indian skin

I have just started to learn nail art and experiment. This nail polish caught my eyes in Jabong.Com one of the popular eCommerce sites in India. All these sites run promotional sales every other day and I bought this on discount.

The tube has two sides with individual brush. The base is dark color with glitters on top. The glitters and base color compliment each other. I bought couple of them and gave a try.

The base of Orbit looks deep purple when applied it looked Navy blue on my skin tone. The glitters appear baby pink but it's clear you can see it on my nails.

It's different for a change and trendy. I was little disappointed as it started coming off from the edges on day 4, I also felt like it's breaking. I would use this completely and never buy this again. Not sure if it's only on my nails, I use to do all house hold chores. Below are the pictures.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick on deep Indian Skintone - Tumultuous Pink

This lipstick is part of Value Set which I bought last fall, and funny I wore it only in Feb this year. Finally and I loved wearing this color around from afternoon till I went to bed. 

There is no complaint about the package, the small tube is cute and travel friendly. The lipstick is a fuscia pink color, very bright and damn gorgeous. I was hesitant to wear at first due to my skin tone, but it brightened my face instantly and was a plus along with my white dress. I never tried this shade but bought online, and I do not regret it :) 

The color stayed on me for several hours, although the little creamy texture disappeared after couple of hours. Leaving behind the color yet I didn't feel my lips dry. I always have a layer of lip balm underneath so this was a hit for me.

Estee Lauder Mini Lipsticks Swatch Review (Estee Lauder Lip Envy Set Review)

I have fallen in love with Estee Lauder Products during my visit to US. I have tried few of their products and I am a huge fan of EL now. During last fall they had several holiday value gift set ranging from makeup, skin care and perfumes. One such item is their mini lipsticks with a small cute case.

The lipsticks are small size suitable for travel. For lipstick lovers who have collections and end up wasting finally, this is a good choice. This is an ideal gift set too.

Cost of lipstick set is $37.50. Quantity is indeed less 0.04 oz.

The lipstick shades are Envious, Tumultuous Pink, Dynamic, Desirable



The formula is very good, creamy texture, smooth on application and hydrating to lips. Good coverage in single swipe, lasts long, doesn't settle in line. It lasted on me for 6 hours without meals with the rick color behind. Didn;t bleed even in the hot humid weather.

I am absolutely loving this lipstick. It suits my deep skintone very well except for Desirable. I will post individual post for each of these lipsticks.

Prada Candy - Florale EDT Review

This is not a lengthy typical perfume review. I will try to put as much info as I can. Everybody who is crazy about those international perfume brands couldn't have missed Prada. I have never bought Prada perfumes but have sniffed them in Macys and Sephora. I got this sample vial for free and I am only too happy for it. I have used it few times now and I know how I feel about it.

Prada Candy Florale is their latest one and belong to Candy family. This is what Prada has to say about this perfume "Prada’s latest fragrance evolved from the concept of an imaginary flower created especially for Candy. Of course, Candy cannot simply have any flower. Her fantasy flower must be unique, embodying her many facets: the fragrance’s light airiness puts the sparkle in her, followed by tender powdery notes that echo her Spring-like grace. A final whisper of warmth and honey reflects Candy’s rich sensuality."

Notes: Limoncello sorbet, Peony, Benzoin, Honey, Caramel, Musk

Actual Perfume comes in a very pretty classy bottle. They come in 30 ml, 50 ml and 80 ml respectively. I am not sure about the price in India though.

Anybody would fall in love with this pretty bottle on the dresser first, it's damn glamorous. Second the fragrance. It;s not over powering, girly and nice when it settles down. When I went out for few hours wearing this, in the hot humid weather of south India I could no longer smell it when I returned home. I understand it's EDT but the staying power according to me was less, could vary for someone else. This is would probably stay on me all night if I stay home from evening in a AC room lol ! I should try that.

I liked the perfume but I liked Burberry Body EDT better than this. I would rate 3/5 because of the lasting power in spite of big price.

MAC Diva lipstick on medium deep Indian skintone

MAC Diva lipstick is one other most applauded lip color by all. I bought this lipstick in US couple of months ago when I visited. I finally had a chance to try it this week. I had several lipsticks to try and I couldn't wear this. 

Price: 16 USD (3g), current price in India would be over 1,000 INR.

About the lipstick: MAC describes this lipstick as "Intense reddish burgundy". Diva is a deep burgundy color with a tint of redness to it. Dark side and Diva might look alike however there is slight difference in the color and big difference in the texture. Diva is Matte finish lipstick, although I didn't find it dry on my lips. Application is easy, either from tube or with brush. One layer is sufficient to many I did one light layer with brush, took it off on tissue and then applied second layer directly from tube and blended. Using a lip liner defines the lip line well, I used MAC Beet liner.

It stayed on for 5 hours without meal, leaving behind the color which lasted throughout the day. You can apply power supply gloss from MAC, on top of it if required for a party look. Here is a post.

MAC Diva suits all medium to deep Indian skin tone very well. I was matched to NC45 of MAC last fall. All purple, plum, berry shades suit me very well including some red.

MAC Plushglass Power Supply Review

Finally here is it - one lip gloss from MAC Plush glass family called - Power Supply. Mac describes these lip gloss as "Sheer lip colour with a pearlized high-shine gloss finish. Comfortable to wear: lush, multi-dimensional. Gives a cool-warm, vanilla buzz to the lips. Moisturizes, soothes and visibly plumps the lips to make them look luxuriously healthy and well-conditioned. Contains vitamin E for added environmental protection."

Price: $20 (4.2 ml) I bought this online without trying. 

About Power Supply Lipglass: This shade is best described my MAC as 'Muted pinky brown with gold sparkle'. It's very much visible through the tube. Color is very sheer when applied by itself, it's always good to top it up on lipsticks. I have worn this with MAC Diva lipstick for  a evening. It would be too much for a day time wear. It's slightly sticky, non drying gloss. It transfers so easily but no complaints.

 I received compliments for this lip color. If you have Diva lipstick and looking for a gloss this is a good one.  MAC Diva lipstick review here.

MAC Dark side Lipstick on Indians skin tone

I have waited so long to write about this lipstick. Dark side belongs to MAC Amplified Creme family. MAC promoted this lipstick last fall (2014) along with Love Child Lipglass, ever since I wanted to buy this. Unfortunately MAC stores were out of stock and could not order online when I was in US. Viola ! I got it from Express Avenue Mall, store Chennai during my visit early this year.

Price : In India, I remember it costed me over 1,200 bucks including tax. In US its only $16.

About the lip color:  MAC defines this color as deep burgundy. It;s of creamy texture with little shine to it, as it belongs to amplified creme finish group. It's a beautiful shade and compliments medium to deep skin tone very well. It has the vanilla smell as all MAC lipsticks have. It's smooth on application, gives decent coverage on single swipe which can be build. Neither this lipstick dries your lip nor settle in fine line.

The wear time is little disappointing. It stayed on me for 2 - 3 hours, and then the tint of color. Not sure if it's due to the hot/humid weather where I live.

You might find this shade similar to several other MAC lipsticks, I will do a comparison soon with the lipsticks I have.

I would rate this as 4/5.

It's been a while ever since I did makeup, as I don;t have time these days. This was all done in a rush.

Lakme Color Crush - Shade 58 on dark skin

I have posted some articles yesterday on Lakme Gel Stylist collection. I wanted to review this shade for a while now. Finally got a chance to write about it today. 

About the Nail Color: I have tried several shades from Lakme's Color Crush collection. The shade I am reviewing today is 58. It's a dark shade color of deep berry with a tint of pink to it. It's not maroon or wine related shade. 

The brush is good to paint, the formula is not too thick like Lakme's 9 to 5 or Gel Nail collection. It gives decent coverage in one coat. I have applied 2 coats with a top coat. I liked wearing this. 

I had this on my nails for a week without chipping, could be due to the top coat. 

Price: Rs.150 for 9 ml. I got it from Purplle with good discount.

Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist Nail polish - Purple Orchid on dark skin

I have written an overview of Lakme's Gel Stylish nail polish collection here. I am posting detailed pictures of this color nail polish in this post. I am becoming a huge fan of dark colors these days. I ordered this online and I get excited to try new colors each week.

Price: - 400 INR for 15ml. I bought this for 340 from Purplle as I got good discount. 

My take on Purple Orchid Shade:  This is a dark shade like I said before. To me it looks like a the color of egg plant, the dark purple color. Add to that is the gel finish shiny look. The color is opaque in single coat. I am wearing single coat in the picture. It suit's all Indian skin tone fair to medium to dark if you are confident to carry yourself wearing this.

I didn't put on a top coat and I did all house chores. The shining wore of in 2 - 3 days and tit started chipping in less than a week at the edges.

Overall I liked the color and texture, yet would rate 3.5 due to the high price and the lasting power.

Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist Nail polish - Mystic Hue on dark skin

Price: - 400 INR for 15ml. I bought this for 340 from Purplle as I got good discount. 

My take on Mystic Hue Shade:  This is a dark shade striking navy blue. I have never worn dark shades like this in my life. But always had a craze to try shades like black, and all darkest colors. This is a bold color. The color is thick enough to give good coverage in one coat. It suit's all Indian skin tone fair to medium to dark if you are confident to carry yourself wearing this.

I am wearing this nail polish with a Sally Hansen Top Coat. This gives extra shine and prevents from chipping

Considering the price I probably won't buy this again until unless I get this on a massive discount :) lol!!!
